1. INTRODUCTION

The Magazine of Geodesy and Cartography was allowed to operate as a press in 1970, under the State Survey and Cartography Department. This is a scientific and technical journal with the function of disseminating the survey and cartography works of our country.

In 1994, the Government established the General Department of Land Administration based on merging the General Department of Land Management under the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and the State Department of Surveying and Cartography. The General Department of Land Administration has the Journal of Land Administration, based on the Journal of Land Management under the previous General Department of Land Management, and the Journal of Geodesy and Cartography was allowed to transfer to the Vietnam Association of Geodesy - Cartography - Remote Sensing.

By 2002, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment was established, in which the General Department of Land Management and the Department of Surveying, Cartography and Geographic Information were re-establisheen published many times, contributing to the industry's development and the country's development. “Our country has never had the potential, position and international prestige as it does today”, the Government is promoting digital transformation, green transformation, digital economy, circular economy, sharing, and knowledge…, along with the development of the 4.0 industrial revolution, the Vietnam Association of Geodesy - Cartography - Remote Sensing is facing a great opportunity to rise up.

For the Journal to develop, and provide a lot of new and necessary information for members, readers in agencies of the Party, State, Ministries, Branches, Academies, Schools… the Editorial Board looks forward to receiving comments, criticisms and funding for printing and publishing.
